3D printed re-entrant cavity resonator for complex permittivity measurement of crude oils

This paper presented a microwave resonator-based dielectric metrology technique using new unified analytical model to extract complex permittivity of low-loss liquid materials. The main design drive the modified re-entrant cavity is confine electric field and therefore enhance interaction with material under test while maintaining high quality factor cavity. enables sensitivity when measuring low loss fabrication resonator was made easy by stereo-lithography (SLA) 3D printing. measured resonance frequency fabricated 2.09 GHz 5250. device first validated several common solvents. A perturbation based on simulations developed for extraction permittivity. influence constant loss-tangent has been fully taken into account. Results obtained agree very well literature values. subsequently used in measurement crude oil samples correlation between category established.
